Archived Walks: introduction

There is a great deal of pleasure to be had in walking. Enjoying the surrounding architecture, wildlife, open landscapes full of mountain ranges. While walking, I enjoy taking a moment to look for things I have not noticed before. As an archivist though, I have the pleasure of walking through the University of Glasgow Archives & Special Collections repositories which are holding millions of records on a whole range of subjects. From ship plans, theatre, tea estates, shipbuilding, publishing and University records. There is always new information to be found, researched, embraced.

The 'Archived Walks' gallery is a place to show my art records based upon my walks through archive repositories (and not just restricted to Glasgow). They will include people I meet, information / stories I learn about or just general drawings showing the surrounding landscape.

I opened up an archive box and I found... based on a legal agreement I discovered in University of Glasgow Archives & Special Collections, James Finlay Collection (reference: UGD 091).
